There are many reasons behind the name. First, my Golden Retriever is named Captain's Compass "Rose," in honor of my dad, who sailed as a Merchant Sea Captain for 40 years. Both Rose and my Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Danny, often make appearances in classes. I hope your pets and loved ones join you on the mat too!
Yoga is also my compass—it sets direction and guides you toward your destinations and goals. If longevity is your aim, and you're seeking a guide for consistent practice and encouragement, you've docked in the right port.
A variety of classes in different lengths and themes, targeting common sticky points with plenty of options tailored to where you are in that moment. Each session includes guided breathwork to nourish your body and calm your mind.
All classes are rooted in the foundational principles of Forrest Yoga, but delivered in gentle flow and yin formats.
In our recorded classes, you'll feel truly seen and cared for—because every session is crafted with deep empathy for where you are right now. I know life can be demanding, and showing up on your mat isn't always easy, especially when aches, stresses, or doubts creep into your practice.
That's why I weave in thoughtful modifications, gentle encouragements, and pauses for breath that make you feel supported, not judged. Whether you're healing from an injury, navigating a tough day, or simply seeking that quiet connection, these classes are designed to meet you with kindness, helping you build strength and peace at your own pace.
You're not just another subscriber; you're part of a community where your well-being matters, and every flow is an invitation to feel held and empowered.

When I was early in my career and faced that dreaded interview question—"Where do you see yourself in five years?"—I flipped the script. I said I wanted a career and experiences that would make me an excellent teacher and professor. Back then, I pictured a college classroom, not a yoga studio—and certainly not founding an online one.
We all have second acts, and this is mine. After years in enterprise sales and consulting, I'm finally pursuing my dream, just with an unexpected twist.
Once, after cheering on a family member at a triathlon, he asked, "What's your thing? How can I cheer you on?" The question hit hard—I didn't have anything beyond work that felt truly special. That changed when I rediscovered my yoga mat.
Yoga became my gift to myself. It healed my body and soul, bringing calm to my high-strung mind. If you're hurting, I see you. Those physical pains? I overcame vertigo and a frozen shoulder through yoga. That inner emptiness? Yoga was the cornerstone of my journey to be over seven years alcohol-free. I found my missing pieces on the mat, and it's the best decision I ever made.
What started as a weekly Sunday morning class evolved into nightly practices, multiple teacher trainings, and now building a vibrant online community of yogis committed to aging well and living healthily.
I've watched my dad pass younger than he should have and my mom struggle with mobility.
I witness it in every in-person class I teach, and I hear it daily from students: my sessions help them feel better, hurt less, and navigate life with more ease. That's my hope for you.
When I asked my students what sets me apart, the recurring theme was that:
That's what I love about Forrest Yoga—it's designed for healing, accessibility, and building longevity. Ana Forrest, its creatrix, is still teaching and training worldwide in her seventies.
